What's the difference between a used and a demo cargo bike?

Used means pre-owned, typically 3,500-15,000 km, professionally inspected, with a 1-year warranty. Demo means as good as new, less than 3,500 km, with a 2-year warranty. Both are delivered ready to ride after a full technical inspection.

Which Bosch motor should I choose for a cargo bike: Active, Performance or Cargo Line?

Active Line Plus (50-55Nm) is fine for flat terrain with 1-2 children. Performance Line (60-65Nm) gives noticeably more power against headwinds and with a fuller box. Cargo Line (75-85Nm) is the most powerful option, specifically developed for cargo bikes with heavy loads, multiple children or hills.

What warranty do I get on a used cargo bike from eBikeXL?

The warranty covers the frame and the Bosch motor and battery: 1 year for used bikes and 2 years for demo bikes. Maintenance is available at around 400 Bosch dealers in the Netherlands.

Why aren't there photos of each individual cargo bike online?

The models are largely identical, so eBikeXL shows example photos of comparable bikes. Colour, specification and visible accessories may differ; no rights can be derived from photos. Viewing, comparing and test riding is always possible without an appointment at the shop in Nieuw-Vennep.

Are accessories and delivery included in the price of a cargo bike?

No, all prices shown are starting (base) prices. Options and accessories such as a rain cover, belt drive, battery upgrade or Maxi-Cosi brackets, and delivery (75 euros), are calculated separately. Only the written order confirmation or invoice is binding; no rights can be derived from photos, showroom display or verbal statements.

Can I pay for a cargo bike in instalments?

Yes, you can pay in full, with a deposit, or in instalments via in3 (3 instalments, 0% interest), Klarna or SprayPay.

Why is there no VAT on the invoice for a used cargo bike?

Most used models are sold as margin goods. By law, no VAT is stated on the invoice for these, which is standard for second-hand goods.

Can I buy or lease a cargo bike through my employer?

Yes, eBikeXL is affiliated with, among others, Fietsplan and Fiscfree (10% fiscfree fee up to a max of 300 euros). Lease-a-bike and HelloRider are also possible with a +15% surcharge on margin bikes due to mandatory VAT and fees.

Does eBikeXL deliver cargo bikes and what does it cost?

Yes, delivery of a ready-to-ride cargo bike costs 75 euros. Pickup in Nieuw-Vennep is also possible; the bike is ready within about 1 week.

Our Urban Arrow Family and Lovens cargo bikes are very popular and are often sold within a few days. You can check current stock in the Cargo Bikes & Longtails and Used Urban Arrow collections. Can I ask by email or WhatsApp exactly how many kilometres are on a specific cargo bike?

Unfortunately we can't look this up for you by email or WhatsApp — because our stock turns over quickly and there are many comparable cargo bikes, an exact mileage can't be guaranteed remotely. The price tables above do show the mileage range per category: Used = 3,500–15,000 km, Demo = less than 3,500 km. Want to know the exact mileage of the bike you'll be taking home? Come by our shop in Nieuw-Vennep — we'll read it directly off the display, no appointment needed.

Can I test ride? Do I need to make an appointment?

Yes, test rides are always possible and no appointment is needed. Come by our shop at Hugo de Vriesstraat 56 in Nieuw-Vennep (Pionier industrial estate, just south of Amsterdam). We're open Tuesday to Saturday 10:00–16:00 and Sunday 12:00–16:00. Closed on Mondays.

How do I reserve or order a cargo bike?

Very simple: choose an available cargo bike via the website or in the shop, and choose how you'd like to pay — in full, in 3 instalments, or with a deposit. Within roughly 1 week your bike will be ready to ride, or delivered (€75). See also our order procedure for all the steps.

What's the difference between a used and a demo bike?

Used = pre-owned, typically 3,500–15,000 km, professionally inspected, with a 1-year warranty. May show a few cosmetic marks but is 100% sound technically. Demo = as good as new, less than 3,500 km, at most light signs of use, with a 2-year warranty. Both are delivered ready to ride after a full technical inspection by our own mechanics.

Which Bosch motor should I choose: Active, Performance or Cargo Line?

Active Line Plus (50–55Nm): fine for flat terrain and everyday use with 1–2 children. Performance Line (60–65Nm): noticeably more power, great against headwinds, on bridges and with a fuller box. Cargo Line (75–85Nm): the most powerful option, specifically developed for cargo bikes — ideal for heavily loaded rides, multiple children or hilly terrain. Not sure? How long do a Bosch mid-drive motor and battery last?

Bosch mid-drive motors are designed for 50,000–60,000 km — so the mileage of a used bike says little about its remaining lifespan. All batteries are fully tested by us for capacity and performance, and professionally refurbished if needed. That's why we simply provide a warranty on every battery.

What does the warranty cover?
